Cross listing gives instructors the ability to maintain one master course with students from multiple sections. A column is created in the Grade Book called Cross-listing Information and allows instructors to see which section a student is in.

Used in conjunction with Selective Release an instructor could deliver different material to different sections while the base of the course remains the same across sections.
