Importing Grades from Opscan into
Blackboard Vista
You can now upload grades from Optical Mark Reading (Opscan) into your Blackboard Vista course.
This is a five step process:
- Save the Excel file you receive from Opscan as a Comma Delimited .CSV file.
NOTE: Make sure that the Total_Points column contains the data you want to upload. If the column does not contain the correct values, call the Help Center at 7-3100.
- Export your Blackboard Vista Grade Book as a Comma Delimited .CSV file.
- Open the web site for the conversion. The web address is:
https://its-fctel01.uncc.edu/opscan/convert_opscan.php
Upload both files into the Convert Opscan Results for Blackboard script.
- Save the combined file as a Comma Delimited .CSV file.
- Upload the new Comma Delimited .CSV file into Blackboard Vista.
Note: The following situations will require that you manually enter grades:
- Students with duplicate first and last names will not be included in the resulting Excel file. For example, you have two students with the name John Smith, their grades will not be converted. You need to manually add their grades into the Blackboard Vista Grade Book.
- If no match is found for a studnets first and last name, he or she will not be included in the resulting Excel file. You need to manually add that grade into the Blackboard Vista Grade Book.
