Blackboard Vista: Working with Question Sets

PDF version of this document: QuestionSets.pdf [260 KB].

Question sets enable you to create a group of questions from which only a random number, which you specify, are presented to your students. After you create the question set, you can edit the number of questions that will be randomly presented to your students. For example, you have 10 questions in a set. You can specify that students see 5 questions out of the total 10. Each student will receive a different set of 5 questions. You can edit the question set as long as no students have taken the quiz. Using question sets helps alleviate students sharing quiz answers. The questions you want to add to a question set must already be added to the Question Database.

Step 1: Access the Assessment Screen

  1. Enter questions into the Question Database and create an assessment (not illustrated).
  2. In the table, click the name of the assessment you want to add questions to. In this example, we are using the assessment Final Test.
