Using Audio in Blackboard Vista:
Upload Audio Files into your Course

To begin the upload process, log in to Blackboard Vista and access your course.


Step 1: Open File Manager

  1. On the Build tab, in the Designer Tools menu, click File Manager. The File Manager opens.

Step 2: Create Audio Folder

Create a new folder for your audio files.

 

  1. In File Manager, click Create Folder. The Create Folder window opens.

Step 3: Name The Folder

  1. In the Create Folder window, in the Title text box, type in a folder name. In the example, we will enter Audio Files.
  2. Click OK. The new folder will now appear in File Manager.

Step 4: Open The Audio Folder

  1. In File Manager, click the name of your audio folder. You will be taken to that folder.

Step 5: Upload The Files

  1. Click Get Files. The Get Files window opens.

Step 6: Open My Computer

  1. In the Get Files window, click the My Computer icon. A file browser window opens.

Step 7: Open My Music Folder

Remember, the default location for your files is My Documents\My Music.

  1. In the window that opens, click My Documents.
  2. Then double-click My Music. The My Music folder opens.

Step 8: Open The Artist Folder

  1. Double-click the folder with the name of the Artist. In the example, that is the textbook publisher, THOMSON HEINLE.

Step 9: Open The Album Folder

  1. Double-click the folder with the name of the Album. In the example, that is the title of the book, Puentes.

Step 10: Select The Files

  1. Select the tracks you want to upload. In Blackboard Vista, the default is to upload 10 files at a time.
    NOTE:
    To select multiple files, hold the CTRL key and click each file.
  2. Click Open. The files begin to upload.

Step 11: Upload Status Displays

  1. An Upload Status window will show the progress of your upload.

Step 12: File Upload Complete

  1. When all the files have uploaded, they appear in your Audio folder. You can now link to them in your course.
